Album Summary for Cheno Lyfe - Home: "Home" by Cheno Lyfe makes one thing very clear.. Florida is a musical force to be reckoned with. Pettidee was the first artist to draw my attention to the sunshine state, and G-Notes furthered the cause. Cheno Lyfe has now sealed the deal and made it official: Florida is now a Christian hip hop hot spot. "Home" features a respectable line up of guest artists, and the production quality is strong overall. The song "Rock Star" is undoubtedly the crowning jewel of the project, as it features a beat that sounds both futuristic and smooth, as well as a slick chorus that rivals even the best secular RNB songs. The song does a very good job of carrying out it's mission - to show that one's material posessions and social status are ultimately unimportant and are only going to fade away with each passing day. Cheno Lyfe points us to Christ, advising us to invest ourselves in him and not in the world. The album's title track "Home" also features great production, as well as a memorable hook and is sure to become the anthem of choice for many. "Beautiful" is one of the best Christian Hip Hop "love songs" (as in love for one's spouse) that I've come acrossed and it's a very pleasant surprise. In the song, Cheno Lyfe expresses the single most important factor that determines a woman's true beauty - a strong relationship with Christ. "White Rag" is also worthy of special attention. It has a very unique sound and feel. The chances are pretty good that you'll find yourself singing along with the highly contagious chorus, which emphesizes the importance of throwing our "white rag up" in surrender to Christ's Kingship.
